Sea Ballad

Melissia Mills, Writer

Her hair shines golden in the sun

Her eyes azure beside the sea

Watching the seagulls dive and soar

Wishing that she could just be free

Tail flipping she launched off a bough

Arcing body, glittering gold

Trapped to dwell within the oceans

Heart and voice had long since turned cold

A sturdy ship travels through sea

Filled with boisterous men drinking

Her hair shines golden in the sun

Her azure eyes show twinkling

Her song draws the men’s attention

Light notes float, filling the salty air

Entrancing them, she sings louder

Golden in the sun shines her hair

Men gather at the bow to gaze

Their heads fill with lust as they drop

They float towards her shining figure

She smiles, biting heads with a chomp

Trapped to dwell within the oceans

Her tail glitters gold, covering jewels

Azure eyes entice anyone

But her favorite snack is sea fools
