The crowd goes wild! The Central Lady Rebel Softball team played their first regular season game on Wednesday, August 28th against the Potosi Lady Trojans. Before the game, the excitement of all the fans showed on their faces.

JV player Abby Courtois said, “This season is going to be awesome. We have prepared all summer. We have worked very hard and are going to continue to work very hard. I have confidence in the season and in our team. Coach Wallen and Coach Bales have worked very hard.”

Their hard work showed starting with the first inning. The Lady Rebels, being the home team, started off by striking out the first two batters and getting the third batter out by an execution play. Then they started batting and the girls’ hard work showed again.

The team only played three innings due to run rules. In that three innings the pitcher, Morgin Reece, struck six batters out. On offense, the Rebels had nine walks, 11 singles, two doubles, one person hit by a pitch, 18 stolen bases including passed balls, and around 14 RBIs.

At the end of the game the score was a 20 to 0, no-hitter shutout. KFMO Radio gives out a Hard-Hat Player of the Game Award after each game. The recipient of this award was short-stop Georgia Richardson.
