On February 7, 2017 Brandon Wagner tied a State record by making 16 three point shots against the Valle Catholic Warriors. The Rebels would defeat the Warriors by a score of 85-33 and Wagner would score 52 total points. The Rebels will play the North County Raiders on Friday Night in the Semi-Final round. I asked Coach Barton how it felt to see one of his players tie a record and he replied with, “It was quite a show. I was just as amazed and excited as everyone else. It was the result of hours and hours of hard work. I was really happy and proud.” Brandon showed a great sense of being a team player with his answer, saying, “To be honest this was never a goal I had ever considered. Our goal each night is to go out and win, but obviously it feels great to have my name in the Missouri High School record books.” Brandon has also signed to play Golf at Mineral Area College which shows his multi-sport athletic ability! It’s a great time to be a Central sports fan so be sure to be at Mineral Area College on Friday night to see our boys take on the North County Raiders!
